Recovery/Wellness Domain Training

This domain training for peer recovery specialists will include effective communication and motivational interviewing techniques and the use of Trauma Informed Care.

Advocacy Domain

This training will give peer recovery specialists an understanding of the methods, skills, and traits for successful advocacy.

Ethical Responsibility Domain Training

This peer training includes reviewing the roles and scope of peer recovery specialists and information about ethics, rights, responsibilities, and other topics. 7 CEUs available for those who complete the full training.

MABPCB approved for initial certification and recertification.

Mentoring and Education Peer Training

This Peer Recovery Specialist Domain training highlights the skills and abilities associated with tasks related to the Mentoring/Education domain. This includes recognizing characteristics of an effective role model, active listing skills, how to recognize when self-care is needed and forms of self-care, understanding the importance of maintaining the Peer relationship, Peer navigation, how to share experiences and conflict resolution. High School Diploma or GED required.

CEU’s: Approved by MABPCB for certification/re-certification. You must complete a BSHB evaluation form to receive CEUs.

Recovery Wellness Peer Training

This training is a Peer Recovery Specialist domain training. This training includes understanding effective communication, understand basic Motivational Interviewing Techniques, 8 Dimensions of Wellness and understanding the impact of trauma and the use of Trauma Informed Care. 3 CEUs available.

CEU’s: Approved by MABPCB for certification/re-certification. You must complete the fully training and a BSHB evaluation form to receive CEUs.

CPRS Exam Prep

This training will help prepare Peer Recovery Specialists to take the IC&RC Peer Recovery Specialist certification examination. This training includes understanding exam eligibility requirements, reviewing examination administration, scheduling, canceling, rescheduling, and studying test-taking strategies. Must have completed 46 CEUs to attend.

Advocacy Domain Peer Training

This training will help Peer Recovery Specialists gain knowledge and skills for advocacy. This training includes defining advocacy and understanding the difference between Little a and Big A advocacy. Peers will gain an understanding of the methods, skills and traits for successful advocacy. 3 CEUs available.

Peer Specialist Outreach Worker Training

This 2-day training is designed to provide adequate training and education for individuals who conduct community outreach to individuals in need of a multitude of services. This training provides education and training in all of the four domains including but not limited to documentation, building partnerships in the community.
