The CCAR Recovery Coach Academy

This is a 5-day required Core training designed for individuals interested in becoming Peer Support Specialists. The training will provide individuals with the skills needed to guide, mentor and support anyone who would like to enter into sustain long term recovery. Total 30 Hours of CEUs: 7.5 Advocacy, 9 Ethics,5.25 Mentoring/Education, 8.25 Recovery/Wellness

The CCAR Ethical Considerations Training

The CCAR Ethical Considerations training is a two-day training for peers. A variety of ethical considerations will be explored including defining the coaching service role and functions, coaching standards, issues of vulnerability, ethical decision making, performance enhancement and legal issues. 16 CEUs will be available upon completion.

Managing Mental Health Emergencies

This online training will provide behavioral health professionals with tools for managing mental health emergencies, including an understanding of the consumer’s perspective, general principles of how and when to initiate an emergency petition and a review of the emergency petition process. Co-sponsored with Affiliated Sante Group.

Trauma-Informed Care Approach

This training will give Peer Specialists the skills to engage with the individuals they serve within their organization that has suffered from some trauma, along with knowing their role. Awareness of secondary trauma and compassionate fatigue will allow the Peer Specialist information that supports self-care and prevents burn-out

The Drugs are Gone, but the Conflict Remains…Now What?

This training will enable Peer Recovery Specialists and other substance use disorder and behavioral health staff to identify conflict & unmet human needs which create conflicts, identify forms of communication & techniques to transform conflicts, and use skills to conduct quality checks of a transformed conflict. 6 MABPCB CEU’S provided by trainer.
