Mentoring/Education Domain Training

This training highlights the knowledge, skills and abilities associated with implementation of the job task related to the Mentoring/Education domain. The training includes recognizing the characteristics of an effective role model, active listing skills, how to recognize when self-care is needed and the various forms of self-care, understanding the importance of maintaining the Peer relationship, Peer navigation, how to share experiences and conflict resolution techniques.

Advocacy Domain and Recovery Wellness Training

Advocacy training will help Peer Recovery Specialists gain knowledge and skills for advocacy. The training includes defining advocacy and demonstrate the difference between little and Big A advocacy, methods, skills, and traits. Recovery Wellness training includes understanding the importance practice of self-care.

Peer Supervisor Course

This training is for individuals interested in becoming Registered Peer Supervisors. Participants will gain an understanding of the requirements, skills, and knowledge necessary to supervise a Peer Recovery Specialist. MABPCB approved for initial Peer Recovery Specialist supervision.

CPRS Exam Preparation Training

This training will help prepare Peer Recovery Specialist to take the IC&RC Peer Recovery Specialist certification examination. This training includes understanding exam eligibility requirements, review examination administration, review scheduling, cancelation, rescheduling & missed examinations, provides study & test taking strategies. CEUs available: 4

CCAR Ethical Considerations for Recovery Coaches

The CCAR Ethical Considerations training is a two-day training for peers. A variety of ethical considerations will be explored including defining the coaching role and functions, coaching standards, issues of vulnerability, ethical decision making, performance enhancement and legal issues. 16 CEUs are available upon completion.

Trauma-Informed Care Approach

This training will give Peer Specialists the skills to engage with the individuals they serve within their organization that has suffered from some trauma, along with knowing their role. Awareness of secondary trauma and compassionate fatigue will allow the Peer Specialist information that supports self-care and prevents burn-out
