Behavioral Health System Baltimore (BHSB) is pleased to support Real Stories of Addiction and Hope, a Maryland Public Television documentary produced in cooperation with BHSB.
As we commemorate September as National Recovery Month, the one-hour documentary shares unfiltered, first-person stories from Marylanders in different stages of addiction and recovery.
Substance use is complex, and people can take different paths, from severe use to safer use, to long-term abstinence. BHSB is committed to meeting people where they are, practicing nonjudgment, supporting individual choice, and embracing any positive change.
Real Stories of Addiction and Hope premieres on Monday, September 22 at 9 p.m. ET on MPT and the MPT livestream. A BHSB expert will join a simultaneous live stream of the program on MPT’s YouTube channel to respond to questions from viewers.
Rebroadcasts will air on September 23 (1:30 a.m., MPT), September 30 (10 p.m., MPT2) and October 5 (5 p.m., MPT).
EVENT: Recovery Is Found Here
To continue the conversation about hope and recovery, BHSB and the Maryland Peer Advisory Council are hosting a screening and panel discussion, Recovery Is Found Here, on October 3. People with lived experience and those working with people experiencing addiction and recovery in Baltimore City will discuss available options and resources for recovery across the city. To attend the screening and panel discussion, please RSVP here.
