Terri Collins-Green, LCSW-C

Terri Collins-Green, LCSW-C, is the Director of Social Work for the Maryland Office of the Public Defender (MOPD). She has dedicated 14 years of service to MOPD, beginning her career as a staff social worker in the Baltimore County office. She was later promoted to Regional Social Work Manager and, in 2018, to Director of Social Work.

Ms. Collins-Green is the recipient of MOPD’s Jane Addams Believer of Justice Award in recognition of her commitment to equity and justice. She also serves as faculty for MOPD’s Gideon’s Promise new attorney training program, where she facilitates sessions on secondary trauma and sentencing advocacy.

In addition to her role at MOPD, Ms. Collins-Green is a Board Member of the National Association of Public Defenders and has served on the Patuxent Institute Citizen Advisory Board since 2021. She is an Adjunct Professor at Morgan State University’s School of Social Work, where she teaches master’s-level courses in Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention and Public Child Welfare. She also serves as a field instructor for social work interns from Morgan State University and the University of Maryland.

Ms. Collins-Green has over 20 years of service as a Maryland state employee and has worked across diverse social work settings, including child welfare, outpatient mental health therapy, residential psychiatric adolescent care, and forensic social work. She is trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy through Behavioral Tech.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Towson University and a Master of Social Work from the University of Maryland. Outside of her professional work, Ms. Collins-Green is an avid motorcycle rider.
