Emily Heinlein, MPH

Director, Public Health Strategic Initiatives

In her role at BHSB, Emily guides the Maryland Harm Reduction Training Institute (MaHRTI) and Bmore POWER. MaHRTI provides training and technical assistance to harm reduction programs throughout Maryland, and Bmore POWER provides outreach and education to support the health and wellbeing of people who use drugs.

Emily loves to sing, hike, and do other things you’d find on the daily schedule of a summer camp. She has a master’s degree in public health and bachelor’s degrees in Spanish and sociology. Her work has focused on the intersection of public health and social justice, and she strives to build work structures that promote community health while also supporting the wellbeing of the people doing the work.
