Nancy has served as the Executive Director of the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence, Maryland since 2009, where she is responsible for fundraising, and oversight of a $600,000 budget.
She is an executive management professional with substantial experience in health care reform and corporate development and a strategic visionary with expertise in marketing, securing national corporate partnerships, foundation support. Nancy serves on the Governor’s Health Care Reform Council and consulted on the creation of the Maryland’s Health Insurance Exchange (Navigator Program, and Essential Health Benefits.)
She served on the Scientific Committee for developing a compassionate use of medical marijuana and was a leader in Maryland’s first Re-Entry Consortium. As a result of her advocacy leadership, there is increased accountability of MCO’s in the state of Maryland as part of a larger advocacy effort that increased access to treatment under Medicaid and improved court ordered evaluations across the state.
Nancy has worked with the National NCADD office in New York coordinating effective intervention, treatment and recovery in Maryland. She was responsible for working with Legislators and the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene regarding the implementation of the Affordable Care Act in Maryland. Nancy has been appointed by Governor O’Malley to the Natalie M. LaPrade Commission on Medical Marijuana, as one of eleven Commissioners. She also served on the Lt. Governor’s Prescription Drug Monitoring program and is a Member of the We Work for Health Partnership for the state of Maryland.
